So My 9yo daughter has been pitching for a couple years now. After getting turned on to this site around a year ago I quickly learned that I wanted my daughter to learn to pitch correctly (aka IR). So with the help of all the great threads on here we’ve been working on it at home. I thought I’d post some videos on here to see if the experts on here think we’re “on the right track”. Thanks in advance for your input.

Couldn’t get the videos to post. Not sure why. I’ll try to get some posted tonight.

The easiest way to post video is to upload it to a service like YouTube or Vimeo then post the link here.

Attempting to post a video. Sorry if this doesn’t work, I’m technology challenged.

She is on the right track. She looks pretty good. I like the front side resistance and the IR.

I don't like the head lean to the right when she throws. I think she is trying to avoid brushing her arm against the right side of her body. She needs to feel her right arm brush the right side of her body.

To post a YoutTube video:

 1. Go to the Youtube video.
 2. Click embed
 3. Copy the code.
 4. Paste code into your post. You don't have to do anything else other than to paste the code.

Thanks sluggers for the thoughts on her IR and FSR that particular day we were really working hard on the front side. She works really hard and says she wants to be "famous" at softball. As far as the head lean I let her read the post and she said she'd try not leaning. I didn't notice her doing it as much yesterday at her lesson. Thanks again for your thoughts.

You are definitely on the right track. She has the right idea and now would be a great time to take a step back in order to take two steps forward.

Introduce warm ups and practices that focus on relaxing that arm and specifically the shoulder. Basic step and throws with a relaxed whip and good brush. You can even throw wiffles, baseballs, or balled up socks. You know she is getting it when you see her do it without any effort or thought!!!

The next basic warm up (after she is relaxed throwing) would be to do a left/right “pop” on her drive into a relaxed warm up throw.

These are not drills but rather just a warm up routine to reinforce the basics a million times so it should be a relaxed experience for both of you.
