I agree that your daughter's lower body action could be improved, but my main focus would be on improving her armwhip (IR). I feel that she needs to open her shoulders more as she comes over the top and maintain that openess as she comes down the backside into release. If you look at her arm as she goes through 9-8-7 o'clock positions you can see that her elbow isn't leading, this is because she isn't open enough. When the shoulder is too closed the arm turns a little and even though the elbow is bent it's not leading. This is also the reason why she is lacking in brush interference. I don't know how you verbalize instruction to your daughter but one thing I learned is that telling a pitcher to 'stay open' longer doesn't get the message across, I now tell them to 'stay sideways' longer. I would have her do some slingshot and emphasis the elbow leading into the hip/side for brush interference and tell her to 'stay sideways' longer.

I agree with this, we're working on it. I tell her exactly that, to stay sideways. "At 9 face 3" is what I've been barking at her lately. Problem is she loses speed when she stays sideways longer, but could be because she's not getting that whip moving where as when she's closing her shoulders too soon, she ends up "muscling" the ball and not whipping it.

This is not uncommon, it's often very difficult to get a pitcher to trust in IR. When you throw overhand and want to add a little extra juice to the throw it involves a stronger shoulder turn toward the target and using the deltoid. When a young windmill pitcher tries to throw hard or add some juice to the pitch the same tendency pops up. I often see this when I put the radar gun on a pitcher. The pressure of a good reading causes a problem, the shoulder closes early, the elbow no longer leads the downswing and the ball is physically forced toward the target. I usually remind them to stay 'loose and whippy'. I often have them practice the motion without a ball and emphasize the loose, whippy feel from 10 0'clock to finish.
