How do you mean?
I don't teach any variance in footwork between pitches...
The only variable is posture and release angle. The initial load, drive/ stride orientation, and FSR are identical regardless of spin.
I know a lot of guys teach to shorten stride on a drop, or step right of the power line to throw a curve etc... But I'm more of the mindset to keep everything identical, and never give up a "tell" if possible.

I agree with coachjames. It’s a matter of hand positioning and hand direction vs footwork.

PC teaches shorter stride and posture back. DD has started hitting her elbow when throwing rise. Also, split in her feet.

Hits her elbow on her hip when throwing her rise. It bruised pretty good. Just started doing it. I catch her at lessons and do not have any video.

Maybe James or some of the other better PCs can chime in on what I’m about to say but could it be that the shorter stride is causing her to have timing issues and being over rotational and causing the elbow into the hip? Or she could be trying to simply lead with the pinky longer to get under the ball and is no longer rolling her arm around the hip but trying to hold that arm position longer and slamming into the hip?

Sounds like shes most likely missing upper arm brush, and as a result her elbow collides and her spin is gyro or bullet...
Try this: at 9:00 get the scaps to load. Puffed out chest, and arms drawn back a bit. Over-exaggerate in drill settings. This will get her upper arm on the back half of mid line. By doing this, the release will be closer to 6:00 and will prevent a premature I/R and she'll get better back spin.
Secondly, really get that posture 20 or so degrees back of vertical, this will also aid in preventing the elbow bang

I’m going to say work on posture. Because when I tried the suggestion coach James just mentioned I realized there’s no way my elbow could reach my hip for a collision. Some good information on this site.
