This is the same girl performing the 9:00 drill in warm ups

Most of you probably know that when watching a youtube clip, space bar is pause then comma and period will advance forward or back one frame at a time.... you can really see the I/R and brush well this way...

Coach, thanks for doing a demo of this device. Given all of the other products, approaches and methods that have been discussed (whether they've been applauded or trashed) on DFP it was interesting to see the initial reaction to this "gadget"...

For comparison purposes I'm curious what cues you use with your pitching students wen NOT using the Queen...do you rely strictly on verbal cues (if so what was most effective) or do you combine the verbal with video analysis? Any other aids (clicker training, etc.) in working on a strong leg/knee drive while maintaining timing, separation, posture and everything else that goes into it? It would seem that if this aspect of the pitching mechanic has not been focused on effectively and suddenly they are introduced to something like this device the gains would be significant, if a PC has an effective way of teaching this already maybe not so much? If it allows continuous reinforcement of the drive while other areas are being worked on then it could be very valuable? As a non-professional, basic bucket dad it's hard to repeatedly notice every link in the chain!
Keep the info coming!

We reference a sprinters posture a lot, and really emphasize detatchment at 3:00. I do film them often so they can see what they're doing and how to fix (whatever) needs adjusted. However, getting your girl to FEEL what we're describing is much harder when only using verbal ques. This particular girl is a work in progress, as we've only been together about 4-1/2 months. Her drive mechanics were poor and underdeveloped. This tool is getting her to feel the thrust needed. The dual clicking sounds will reiterate the timing and sequence aspects needed.
Yes I do use a clicker occasionally, as it forces them to think for themselves and not solely depend on my feedback. This tool is a clicker in and of its self. The sound will tell her "good or bad"
I'm still studying to see if this is a must have, or have not... jury is still out.

Thank you. That's pretty much what I figured regarding it being another tool in the arsenal. I wasn't specifically asking about the kid in your video but rather wondering about some of the claims regarding speed gains by the manufacturer. Seems like an area of Drive Mechanics that most good PC's work on already. If a pitcher hasn't been working on this and then suddenly tunes into it, then sure a few mph are very likely!

This girl is brand new. Has only been taking lessons for 4-1/2 months. Its obviously a work in progress.
These clips are intended to show the differences in her drive

In this last clip, notice her falling forward? This is that extra forward momentum shes not used to...

based on what I see here it looks good Coach James!

I wondered about this. That is a huge plus. Cannot believe they are seemingly unaware of it. Great work!

Riseball and coachjames (will post quote CJ the same question so alerted), do you think 3:00 detachment is an absolute or do you think the 3:00 to say 1:00, 2:00 window is just fine depending on the girl?

I hope to take this discussion into a different thread as I think there is a ton to learn from it....

Yeah. I saw that locked out knee too... Very poor demo indeed!
It'll make 2 audible clicks when used correctly. The first being the ground forces and the second is the forward move.
I've found it to be helpful especially on the second click. This tells me the "detachment" that we're looking for when the arms are at 3:00.... That's the unrealized bonus that the manufacturer didn't plan on!
I'll post a few clips of a couple students tonight

CJ- quoting you hear so you get the alert as I did the same for Riseball. Would like to get your thoughts and turn this into another thread/discussion point as it might help others including myself....

You'll see I've also added their brush and I/R example as well to show upper half mechanics
