Yup. I've worried over the last couple years that a parent, coach or pitcher would ask about Barnhill. So far, so good. So glad when Garcia came on the scene as a much better role model! I'm wondering if more folks will start teaching a replant.

A lot of people I talked to about Barnhill last summer felt that if the pitcher isn't going to get called for it - why not try to get away with it? I think that response shows the frustration coaches feel about the low frequency of illegal pitch calls.

Maybe the new USSSA rules will lead to more calls in travel and less illegal pitches eventually...

I see today is Kick-a-hornet's-nest-Monday :D

Lol sorry. New to the forum. Didn't realize it was a sore subject previously hashed out. I just don't like how the announcers say that every young pitcher needs to watch this, knowing it's a very questionable delivery. Why teach young pitchers this when you know most umps will call them on it the older they get

Watched the video again several times while focusing on the left stride leg. I really don't see her gaining any additional distance towards home plate with the replant. It looks to me like the stride foot was going to land in the same spot regardless of the replant. Maybe the replant is helping improve the torque against the front side? JMO.
