Game vs practice speeds

I find no difference in speed between a practice and a game with our pitchers getting their reps in. If anything, a couple of our girls might be a bit slower if they are throwing bp because they worry about hitting their own players. If you find your DD pitching slower in a game you might want to talk with her and have verbal cue that tells her to throw it harder. It can be difficult for younger kids to keep the same intensity for an entire game and if you see it lacking you need to let them know. Run all this by her coach of course :)

I notice different speeds from game to game. We had one pitcher who just could not pitch the first game of the day. I didn't clock her, but she was much slower on those games.
