Could regular bowling affect pitching mechanics?

DD wanted to be on the HS swim team in her freshman year, which I heartily encouraged. Now she wants to tryout for the HS bowling team for a winter sport.

Has anyone heard of regular bowling, the HS team practices and competes on Tues and Thurs only, messing up a pitcher?

The other three weekdays she will be on the town swim team, so that should keep her muscle development balanced.

One of the top students I ever had was an all state bowler, all state pitcher, undefeated in 2 years of travel and a 2x NSA national champion. Don't get me started on her college career bc she followed a boyfriend across the country (I still get angry) but I often wonder if the bowling and pitching were related. She wasn't the only one I had a few crossovers who were all pretty good. Everyone has different softball mechanics and bowling mechanics so it probably depends on how you are doing both in whether it strengthens or hurts you. I gotta imagine that if you are using the same arm and not doing anything to counterbalance the other arm that you will end up very lopsided. Have her bowl lefty ;)

LOL. I am not sure she is going to make the team as a righty.

i am hoping that being on three different swim teams, over 9 months of the year will be a little bit of help keeping her balanced.

A friend of mine was a great pitcher and bowler. I don’t think you need to worry about it.

When my DD was 15 or 16, she bowled on a Saturday night and pitched Sunday Morning-
plunked 7 batters and still won the game 5-2. Coincidence? I think not we had some laughs
afterwards though
