Best way to correct a false step. Taking a small step off the mound. Throwing really well. This came out of nowhere.

RH pitcher and stepping a few inches with her right foot. Not a crow hop or leap. It's a slide step.

Film it and show it to her. DD did the same thing for years and still does on occasion. She'd never believe me that she was doing it until I showed her.

FWIW, mentioning how you've been telling her shes gonna get get an IP called on her immediately after she does get called on it likely won't go over well. :)

She had an IP called this weekend. Started doing it the week before. Stopped rocking back and threw ok. 7 innings 14 K, 1 hit, but walked 6. Only two walks in the previous 38 innings. Just not sure how to stop it.

It has to be at the start, sounds unhelpful but work on how she starts her pitch.

She is in control, slow down and get in rythem.

I call that a "Gym Step." Some girls develop it when they are pitching in a gym or on a hard floor with no hole in the front of the pitching rubber to get their toe into to push off from. Sounds like she needs to focus on getting loaded and moving forward sooner. Video would help.

Yes it's a gym step. We always pitch with a rubber except before games.
