I hear you ... I thought I was the only person that advocated throwing a riseball this way.
So you have a slow motion side view of this? I wish they showed it from the side. I see what he is showing but wondering if hand goes down back side after realease? I can seem to throw it how he is showing. Am I missing something?

Love the riseball lesson at 2min. That should open a few eyes.

Same here?

Thumb over would allow for the rolloverunder, type finish. One should get same result of spin by turning palm down after release. Rolling the pointer finger against the ball.

Can someone GIF the slo motion rise ball demonstration at the approx 2min mark... please
I'd like to see the spin axis. He throws hard enough that the speed and trajectory alone appears to be effective!
I'm curious to see how exactly he's achieving back spin with that demo of a hard I/R move?? I'd imagine it'd be a bullet spin as a best case scenario... but then again look at Rachel Garcia's rise.... bullet can be effective at those higher speeds

The computer I use to pull down Youtube videos is down. Looking for a way to do this with Win-10 O/S.

Also, we had a Univ of Illinois professor posting here at one time that gave us an Excel based computation of pitch profiles based on various factors. From memory, bullet spin pitch profiles were a reasonably close match to pure backspin pitch profiles. It is my opinion that many pitchers throw a riseball closer to a bullet spin than a true reverse spin ... and in combination with a decent curve/drop they can be quite effective.

Love this video, just wish it was posted in English because I don't understand that language they are speaking. The video itself has some great info. Thank you for posting.

Also, on youtube I can usually tell the spin of a pitch with decent video by changing the speed within youtube to the slowest speed. Then the space bar pauses it so if you hit space bar super quick it slows it down a little more so you can follow the seams. Just a suggestion in case no one has tried this. Hope it helps.

You may already know, comma and period button with move video frame by frame in youtube

I picked up a ball and was playing with it. Instead on the standard follow through where you come up under the ball. He is snapping his hand down the backside of the seam. This is accomplishing the same thing as pulling the finger under the ball. It seems like it would be more difficult to achieve an upward trajectory this way, but this player obviously does it. I would really love to see this from the side in slow motion to see if what he is showing is actually happening.
