posting a second thread on this one as to take it in a different direction. Anyone see any ADDuction here??

Sorry, my video skills stink but hopefully you get the point and can see something maybe you wouldn't have seen otherwise.

One of the things I noticed about Ueno in the past is how the plant foot points nearly directly at the plate - this guy has the same characteristic.

Agree and saw that as well. Glad you pointed it out. They also have the same arm swing pattern (both arms) except Ueno leads with her glove and he leads with his pitching hand. Regardless, the swinging of the arms is the same and something many of the Japanese do. If anyone is wondering what I am talking about, look at the video of Ueno and her coach which is out there inside a gym teaching a guy who I think is probably a tv guy how to pitch. They move their arms around together and I have seen that many Japanese carry this over to the pitch. This guy and Ueno and others. In the USA, I think we get lazy with the glove arm IMO. Does it matter? I think it does and have my thoughts but there are many "lazy" glove arms that do quite well. Regardless, the Japanese seem to really get both arms going and they are pretty darn good. Not a bad idea to replicate what they are doing IMO......

Truth is the Japanese, IMO, have more of a cookie cutter approach with their pitchers. WE, USA, have many more "styles" from pitcher to pitcher which I like. However, it is easy, and probably the reason why I watch the Japanese videos so much, is that you see the same "style" just with different pitchers and easy to follow or learn from one recipe if you will.

Ueno gets a little more open toward third base but the stride foot landing orientation and bend in the the stride leg do look very similar. Pulls the ball out of his glove with very little back swing even less than Ueno and a relatively slow circle with extreme acceleration at the bottom. His arm moves so fast at the bottom the video can't pick it up. Looks very smooth and effortless.
