Looked up NCAA, ASA, and USSSA rules and all three show that as long as the hands are separated the ball can be in the glove. Is there any association that states the ball must be in the throwing hand?

No.

"Presenting" the ball is a huge urban myth.

Repeat after me, "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS PRESENTING THE BALL!"

The ball can be in the hand or the glove in every rule set when the pitcher engages the pitching plate.

Was with two former college coaches and one current. One of them was sure in some events you had to have the ball in your pitching hand. The other two said that wasn't the case. DD keeps the ball in her glove but was told she wouldn't pitch unless she put it in her pitching hand. Not in a good mood.

First off, don't even consider NCAA rules for anything but NCAA. And any other main rule set I am aware of (not taking into account any local rec misguided rules) the ball can be in either hand.

I looked up NCAA rules and ball in glove is OK.

Some NCAA rules are the same, many others aren't. My point was do not look at NCAA rules for anything but NCAA. And the coaches you talked to obsviously don't know what they are talking about either if they are telling you some tournaments require the ball in the hand.

The coach was saying that if my DD every pitches in college she would have to have the ball in her pitching hand so she needs to switch now. Also, they will call it in the big it in the big tournaments. Just making sure I was correct with the other two college coaches.
