New to the site - first post. Bucket dad using the threads and posts on this site for insight, mechanics, and drills. Trying to convert a pusher to a IR. DD started IR conversion right after HS season. Didn't think it would be this hard! I would appreciate feedback on any part of the pitch from more trained eyes than mine and some suggestions on drills that will keep this transition on the right track, enable more whip, and reinforce the proper mechanics. Thanks

Okay.... If you just focus on her arm from 10:00 through release, it (her arm) doesn't look too bad. I'd switch your focus to her leg-drive and arm relative to stages of her leg-drive. There's quite a bit of work to do there.

Can you elaborate on exactly what you seeing. I agree the arm circle is out of time relative to the feet and landing. almost seems like (arm circle panic?) afraid of being late so it starts to early...and is rushed into to 12:00 with no where to go. Any suggestions to sync up the arm circle? We've been experimenting with a pronounced superman once the hips open.

What has worked for my DD and may or may not be a fit for you. Have her add a backswing. This will allow her lower half to get started and let the upper half be more in sync.

Agreed. She always had a very pronounced double arm backswing-but fought to control the glove hand thru the pitch and the timing issues it caused. The rocking bent elbows are a conscious effort to control the flying glove and simplify the process of changing motions from Push to IR. First concern was to incorporate IR motion. Next phase is to clean up the "drive mechanics". As Doug pointed out- powerful drive, but not in time or effective. We plan to focus on the drills outlined in the stickys and really begin to incorporate the powerful leg drive in a more precise manner to time up the arm circle. A one arm backswing will be re-introduced as part of it. I'll send out more clips later once we have it all clicking for another on the right track. Thanks for the insight to all.

Try these:
-Pump the hands forward as the stride heel drops, then swing back.
-Pull the ball around the circle from the backswing (she will hopefully understand this...)
-Think, "squeeze the knees going into release."
-Think, "quick, long toe drag."
-Pull the laces towards the catcher.
-Pull that glove down going into release.
-Get tall at release: "Nose behind the toes"

Thanks to all who Pm'd and posted. Very insightful.
Ken B - we've been working drive mechanics for about a week. I posted a video of the results from the 2nd time out.
Still raw. but seems to be gaining ground.
There are a few things I noticed, flying glove hand (it's back), needing a click more overlap into the drive to delay that quick to the
top R arm, and a more consistent land/brace. For the most part t's not bad, but this one shows a slight bend in the L knee and straighten back up.
I'd like to say the confidence level is way up, Velo up, the shoulder and arm pain is gone after transforming to IR!
A little background: As freshman, had a very productive varsity season. Last season Soph Varsity - got into a funk - really struggled with timing and
a pusher style delivery -which led to of course (soreness). I applaud her determination to put in the work to be the best she can be.
Once again; on the right track? Please keep the feedback coming.

Keep the weight over the front toe. Don't let the hips drift behind the front edge of the rubber. Use the glove to power the drive and release. Drive it out, pull it in.

For reference, Gabbie has great FSR and arm whip. Notice how she firms 'up' as her arm whips at the bottom of the circle
