Does anyone have slow motion of her throwing? In real-time looked alot like HE mechanics, at least on the drop ball pitches. But these old eyes arent trustworthy!

Noticed that too but it looked like a 2 seam peel drop rotation so that maybe the reason the finish looked HE, because of the “rip”.

Definitely a hopper--replant and repush. Will it become officially legal, or will umps continue to decide for themselves what the rules are?

I'll give her a pass on the replant as she grew up and came over from Australia and that is how she learned. I think it is less pronounced than Barnhill.

I noticed it more tonight than in previous games so could have been a bit of nerves pitching in the championship finals and defaulted to original form/behaviors. Although only giving up the homer, she certainly wasn't nearly as sharp tonight.

It will be interesting if the hop is minimized further with another year removed from Australia to work on it, or getting the toe pointed down to discretely drag the dirt.

I wish NCAA would just get rid of it. Gabby is doing amazing to change as much as she has, but she’s going to need to relearn to leap again once college finishes.

HE is Definitly still taught here. I was taught it as a kid in Sydney. I’ve had a coach here in Perth tell me to follow through. I just ignore it now

Pulling for Washington but Gabbie is illegal every pitch. FSU gets called for stepping out of the box (correct call) and an illegal pitch. Drives me insane!

Thank you Shaker for the gifs.
I did notice last nite the replant. It is common to see anymore at all levels, is never called, that I mostly overlook it. ESPN was showing the drop spin and it sure looked like an HE delivery. So I figured the communal brain trust would know! :)
Looking at the GIFs, what I see is: She is pulling the ball down the back side, seems to get IR as the arm goes 9 to 6 oclock. But it seems she does not get the brush and consequently, the whip we all so covetously seek. (at least when I compare to the gifs of Sarah P. Ueno etc.)
Do others agree?
I am interested as DD still does not get as much brush/whip as I think is optimal.
Thanks!
