Announcer labeled pitch as screwball, said to watch how the ball tumbled, with some lift to it??? While it was being shown in slowmotion. Lol. She may hop, but she can spin it

She has the best looking rise in the game right now IMO.

I still like Garcia's better. :)

I was just about to chime-in on Garcia.
Great pitcher, no doubt - but all of her spins are the SAME, except for her Change, which tumbles forward.
The rest are all up-turned "big dot" bullets. Rise, Curve, Screw. All the exact same spin, thrown to differing locations.

Game 01 vs FLA St semi final featured a lot of slo-mo clips of Garcia's various pitches.
My point above was illustrated plain as day.

Barnhill, Parker, Kleist. The best rise ball pitchers I've found this year. I even found a slowmo of Plain that had decent spin, but in another it was pure bullet.

When players hit the ball do they always get the launch angle and exit velocity perfect? Of course not. The same with pitching. A great pitcher will not have perfect spin each time, just more often than not. Pitches will come and go throughout a game, even within an inning. Just need to be smart enough to go with what is working now and try to establish what is not working when it matters least.
