DD is having pain and discomfort in her big toe on her drive foot. I'm suspecting turf toe but haven't been to the doctor yet. Anybody else's DD have any issues like this?

My DD sprained her big toe (turf toe) playing bball, as she was tripped and fell forward excessively bending her big toe upward. This was a single incident that caused her turf toe. She did not pitch for about 2 weeks, as this was her drive foot, and pitching caused her pain and affected her push off. She felt affects for about 3 months after that, but you could not see it affect her performance.

Your DD sounds like it is a repetitive injury from pushing off, so your situation may be different. We went to a doctor, and he advised ice and taping, and to let pain manage her activity.

Taping helped with bball...not so much with pitching. Good luck.

My dd had some trouble with this and the chiropractor actually helped. He said the ankle and lower part of the tibia were not aligned correctly and putting excessive pressure on the big toe area. Don't know if it was primarily that (also iced and used anti-inflammatories) but it felt quite a bit better right after that.
