My DD is 14 Years old and people have told me to my face that I lie about my daughters pitching speed. Honestly I don't care, I know what my kid pitches and have clocked her with a ball coach Radar. I hear them are pretty accurate. But you should see some of the faces I get when I tell people she is throwing 54 at 14 years old. It's almost comical. I don't care if she throws 45 or 75...if she is getting outs then I am happy.

We too use the ball coach radar. My daughter plays 12U and has hit 55 in practice, low 50s during a game. My friend tells me his DD is hitting 55 too, but he must be using a different gun because when they line up against each other there seems to be at least a 5mph difference. We don't use the radar as a brag, we use it to monitor her progress, and thus we always have a constant in reading her speed. It wouldn't matter if it shows 10 more or 10 less, just so long as it is consistent. Ball radar always seems to read lower than other guns I have seen and used.

Class A, B, and C teams at a tournament this weekend. Over half were B or A. I didn't see all the teams but most of the better pitchers were 50 to 53. The three best. 1. Consistently 58 and big girl. 2. LH that was 52 but changed speeds and knew what she was doing. 52 looked 102 when she threw hard. 3. 51 and hit spots and not much to hit.

The girl that threw 58 was playing with a C class team. The team wasn't very good but she didn't walk anyone the game I saw in 6 innings. She was by far the hardest thrower and saw most of the teams.

My DD was throwing 44 at 9. 48-49 at 10 and stayed that speed until 12. 12-13 48-51. 14 52-56+. DD is maturing at 14. Legs are starting to fill in with muscle and there’s a noticeable jump in speed. I’ve clocked her at 54 in games earlier this summer and I’d say she added 2-3 mph on that. Will need to check her again. DD pitched in games Tuesday through Sunday this week. Highest speeds were on Sunday. Guessing 55-57. Will bring the gun back out this weekend.

DD had a guest catcher this weekend. The catcher is legit. DD felt free to let it rip without fear of a wild pitch where she will tend to slow down for a catcher that has trouble with catching. 0 passed balls in championship game.

One of the kids I help a little just last week broke the 60mph mark on her 13th birthday. It's nice to have a Rick Pauly in town each year to help her out too.

My daughter is 15 and barely breaks 57 MPH. She is committed to a P5 school and coach says that speed will come and her spin will keep her competitive. She is now playing with a 18U team in PGF nationals.

The kids that throw 60 are the exception. Kind of like golfers, only 5 percent break 80.

The kids that actually throw 60 are the exception. The kids whose parents say they are throwing 60 are the rule.

I have seen a lot of 12U games and the last two years. I will admit not the top tournaments but have only seen two over 55. PC has a 13 year old that has hit 65. Has D1 offers but I have never seen her.
