....or whomever calls their pitches. Rule #1... with a 1 run lead after the 5th inning, you throw NOTHING above the knees. You do not throw a riseball in the B7 with 2 strikes to Auburn. With a 1 run lead you keep the ball down. Rule #2. See rule #1.

I could not tell on spin but Auburn's pitchers have a ways to go on the riseball. Just throwing it high does not constitute a rise and if you can't keep it marginal, the hitters and umpires will never have to worry about swinging or calling it a strike.

Seriously this is why i struggle watching college softball. I scream at the Tv, it scares the dog, he farts, the smell is horrible, and all because of throwing a rise and losing the game.

That is all...

Is Alexis Osorio ok, anyone know? I saw she was injured but I didn't see what happened.

They showed her after the game, she looked ok. Murphy said in his interview that she probably had a concussion. She took a line shot to the head.

I only saw the game by chance and was very interested to see the NZ girl pitching for Alabama. JUCO transfer. More and more players/pitchers coming from Down Under.

A good buddy of mine is now the Auburn hitting coach, former Team USA player Eddie Kettlehut.

Ball didn't look to be hit square... came back slower than a rip. It must have had a ton of spin on it, because it dropped just under her glove.
Still got her pretty good on her forehead.

I didn't see what happened, just saw an article on FB that didn't have much info. Glad it sounds like she's ok. DD's a pitcher and anytime I hear about a pitcher injury at any level it gives me a little chill. :(

Oregon did the same thing in game 2 vs ucla. lucky for them they had a big lead.

in game 3 they kept everything low at the end.

General question Bill.

Would you ever recommend throwing a waste pitch that is a riseball up in the count 1 and 2 or 0 and 2? Say eye ball level that would be extremely difficult to hit, just to keep the other team from sitting on pitches low in the zone. In the same scenario as described in the thread.
