Dd is complaining of elbow pain on the inside of her elbow. Anyone out there experience this? What did you to help the pain?

Sounds like golfer's elbow. Needs rest, ice, and OTC pain relievers.

If it persists more than a week or two see a doctor for an x-ray.

My DD had elbow tendinitis when she was a new pitcher, about 9. We figured out it was probably caused by poor overhand throwing mechanics then aggravated when she pitched. We took a month off (rest, ice, advil - this was after seeing an ortho, it was his diagnoses/recommendation). When we came back we focused hard on throwing mechanics. I found Wasserman's high level throwing stuff and started working with her on that. Not only did she never have a recurrence of it, her throwing was greatly improved. And of course we kept working on her pitching mechanics too but I'm almost positive the overhand throwing was what caused it.

DD has teammate this year with an elbow issue and it was because how she was throwing the screwball. Once she changed that, the pain went away.

I addition to above posts, I have to ask her age? When mother nature gets ahold of them around 11 or 12, the rapid growth can be the cause. My dd had what the Dr. called an irritated growth plate.... ice and rest

As others have said...rest, ice, OTC pain relievers is the place to start. If it persists, seek medical evaluation. Physical therapy might be required. In an extreme case, surgery might be required. It's not something you should really try to "tough out".

Last year, my DD was out with an ulnar nerve irritation issue that required 8 weeks of PT, and no throwing. It was pinpointed as an imbalance in her throwing shoulder created by some incorrect mechanics in her throwing pattern.

I'm usually not the guy asking for video since video analysis is part of my business and I don't usually do them here, nor do I encourage people to send video of their kid to a public website. But, I've seen countless situations where the overhand mechanics mess up the underhand. Girls, for whatever reason, warm up at full speed. There is no half speed or slow motion involved. Combine that with something wrong in the mechanics, leads to pain. That said, if you post a video I'll throw in my 2 cents (for whatever that's worth) as to why she has pain. PAIN means something is wrong. Sore is different than pain and the distinction has to be made. No girl (or boy) throwing fastpitch should have pain. So, if you have video and want to share (email me if you want) I will look and see if I see anything obvious.

I would get it checked out. It is good that she told you that it was bothering her. My right shoulder hurt me from my soph. year HS until I stopped playing soph. year in college and I never told anybody
