My daughter get's it in the same area and for her it's tendinitis in the elbow. The pain starts on the inside of the elbow and moves down into the inside of her forearm (relative if she has her hand out in front of her palm up). She get's it mainly when she throws a lot of palm-up curveballs. In any case, ice and rest to start and then we use hot/ cold shock treatments after a few days.

That makes perfect sense. She threw lots of curves over the weekend. But has never had any problems. How often do you guys experience this problem? How long does it take to go away? Does it linger longer with each episode?

May I suggest getting it checked??? My DD complained of pain when she gave up the longest homerun I ever saw... We just told her to own the homerun she gave up and stop making excuses... Several weeks later of continuous high school softball pitching, she complained of sever pain in her elbow after warming up and throwing a curve... Visit to the orthopedic doctor, she had an acute UCL tear.. If she listened to her parents and sucked it up, she would have probably had Tommy John surgery in the long run. But I'm also a big believer in everything happens for a reason... About a month later she was in a car accident and the physical therapist wouldn't work on her without her seeing a dr first because her elbow was so swollen... The dr wouldn't look at her until the car insurance approved everything.. We said screw this and went to another dr. He recommended an athletic trainer who had two tommy john surgeries and was a kinesiologist. After 9 months, she finally went back to the game she loves. We have a new pitching coach, she still works out and is stronger than ever. The moral of my story is don't mess with elbows.

My DD has been struggling with elbow sensations for several months (since early December). Went through initial examinations to rule out structural damage. Issues traced to tendinitis. Went through usual treatment to treat......continued with ongoing sensations from elbow to wrist (tingling, numbing). Some surgery discussion began. Went for further work up and learned that there was tightness below her shoulder blade and to the right near her armpit. Discovered that the Teres Major muscle tightness was the cause (or at least seems to be) of her elbow to wrist sensations/discomfort. E stim, muscle release and heat seem to be helping. I wanted to share our "whack a mole" story in trying to track the origin and make sure that folks don't leave the shoulder out when going through elbow work up.
