Been reading up on Ground Force Reaction and I’ve got a pitcher that lands with a soft (bent) stride leg and doesn’t firm it up until ball is gone. Could this be due to striding too far and she isn’t strong enough to absorb the weight of landing?

Do you have video? This is not a black and white answer...

Does she leak or drift forward after she plants?

Is the bend a cause or an effect?

Are there any bone predispositions? Valgus\Varus? Pigeon or duck toed?

I could ask a million questions...video from the waist down would be helpful...CP

Butt out at release and no brush. She was a HE pitcher. We are still working on her not turning ball down on backside of circle.

"Ground Force"... the only time I've heard that is with pitching coach Bill Redmer, were/are you a student of his?

Although I think he calls it Ground power.

I'm just curious if you're Redmer students.

Not a student of Coach Redmer. Read some of Boardmembers posts concerning timing where he discusses ground force reaction

Try having her increase the size of her back swing, and see if the timing of resistance changes...

Thanks Coach James! We will work a longer backswing to help firm up there stride leg. Makes sense. Will also try to get a little more forward movement as the the ball goes back
