Richmond, VA instructor!?!? Rick Pauly is worthy every penny and more. My daughter watched a video of a lesson he did and asked if she could work with Rick. We’re really looking forward to it!

Here’s his contact info: Contact

I swapped emails with Rick in late 2015 trying to get my kid in front of Rick. No success.

Signed up her for a group class with him in 2016. It got cancelled. Went to his parent briefing anyway and asked in person to let me know if he ever had a cancellation. He wasn't interested but I got some useful info on the riseball grip that dd still uses.

I wish I knew the secret handshake but Rick is in high demand. Getting my kid 1-on-1 attention from Denny Tincher is easy by comparison--I succeed every 18 months on average.

Go to Pauly Girl Fastpitch and purchase a video analysis. Best $50 I've spent in a while. 1 Hour Skype session with tools sent after.
Rick is an incredible instructor.

We’re doing Skype/email evaluation as well.

I feel your pain with getting time in with good instructors. We struggle to get in with my daughter’s hitting coach. The best PC’s in the Portland area are completely booked. Can’t imagine the waitlist for live 1:1’s with folks like Pauly, Hillhouse, Muhleisen or Balswick.

Thanks for the review. I might do that.

I looked at a it couple of years ago but was unsure of how to proceed or what kind of feedback she would get. So I appreciate the review. I'm inept at computer stuff so trying to set up a Skype session looks daunting.

Skype with video evaluation can be a good experience with the right instructor and with support folks on the family’s end. Scheduling is also tough. It helps to have a catcher or net and someone to operate the iPad or phone. Rick also has some pretty cool tech that I could only dream of!

Was actually easy!
After I paid Rick emailed me asking for 3-4 videos of different angles of DD Pitching.
Once they were received Rick set up a time , I downloaded the app and signed up for Skype and sent Rick my user name.
He called me at the scheduled time and the session was great.
After he emailed me a replay Video of the session and some clips to address her issues.
I'm about to set up a follow up session.

Funny story and will try to keep it short unlike most of my posts. Rick is my DD's pitching coach so I want to make that clear. Okay, truth is he is not but that is what I tell everyone who asks who is....I am her coach and Rick looked at a vid of my DD several years ago and has answered several emails from me over that time. He is truly an Ambassador to the game and is incredibly helpful and taught me a ton so far. With that said, I hope Rick would not be upset, but when certain situations arise, he is her coach. For some reason, many coaches don't believe a Dad knows anything about pitching and maybe I don't but I have more than a 4 year degree here at DFP! Full Disclosure, I have repeated the classes many times....

Getting back to why I tell people he is my DD's coach.....they always ask when they throw out "let's start with wrist flips" or something else that is a waste of time I have to stop them in their tracks as I know our time is being wasted. BUT when I say her coach is Rick and explain who he is they get interested and all of sudden I have some credibility as DD has a coach that knows what the hell he is teaching. Point being, I don't have the credibility....YET... as I only coach my 2 daughters. However, I can keep the "every pitching coach on the corner in Softball USA" away when I mention Rick's name.

Truth is, I probably owe Rick some compensation for that, but it has been a huge help and I know with 110% certainty he as well as this site knows more about pitching than most you will find.

Everyone's responses and pms have been truly helpful. I don't know that skype session is where I want to go right now. I'm at the point where I don't want to lose her trust by changing her approach myself. I feel she'll respond better to the one on one right now. She pitched great the other night so I'll tippy toe through practice until we do our introductory session to Tincher on 4/9. If I get to address philosophy with the coaches I will. I'm pulled all over the place with coaching my boys and her travel team. Not to mention her Dixie team is starting up soon.
