Does this sound correct?

DD came home from "voluntary" HS workouts yesterday and said the coach said this year in high school ball you can take a step off the mound, back before delivery? So present with both on then back with your left foot??? She was throwing it way hard with the extra momentum. New high school rules???

All school ball under college and LL allows this, I think. Not a new rule.

Nothing new about the rule, high school has always allowed the step back. The only thing that has changed is the step back used to have to occur prior to hands coming together, now it can be done anytime prior to the actual start of the pitch.

Google NFHS pitching rules and read up. There's not a lot different but enough that it's worth knowing.
