In an effort not to wear out Ken B, I thought I'd post a video here for feedback. DD (10) really needs to improve her drive so we've worked on the 2-step the last couple practices. We've watched Java's videos a few times but just not sure if she is doing the 2-step as it should be done. The only thing I can really see is that her drive foot is collapsing too much. Video quality not the best inside facility.

For her age, shes doing it fairly well. For me, I'd prefer she didn't get so heavy on that left heel when she steps back. Further, I'd prefer she get just a hair higher in her drive forward.

Nice work! Really good sequencing.

I agree with Doug about working to stay on the toes--with both feet. Some of it is her age and genetics, but definitely worth the work both in drill and in any cross training.

A whole lot going on right here. I would watch from the back though and make sure the she is straight down the power line...in this case the line is from wherever she stops and plants her drive foot can't tell but since she is sliding over for the drill we don't want her momentum carrying her over too far her plant should be at a 45 which it is inline with her drive foot...again can't tell because of angle from side...all in all looking really good.

Looks good, Josh. As noted above, she's heavy on the step back. If you think about that comment, what does it mean to you/her?

To me... it means her center of gravity is too far rearward. If she were to lean forward more while stepping back, her COG would be forward more, and not be so "heavy". Good cue is to tell her to keep the nose in front of the drive knee, drive knee in front of the drive toe... form this posture relationship BEFORE the arm passes her side and by NOT bending at the waist (she doesn't do the latter, just fyi).

She also forms resistance well on stride contact... but her shoulders are a bit too rotational into release.

Looks really good, btw.

Thanks everyone! We're going to give it another shot this afternoon.

We'll also work to correct the shoulder rotation...good stuff as always.

Very good progress. Added a couple of pauses in at plant. Adduction looks good. Definitely gets taller. Good job!

WoW there is just a whole lot to like here. Maybe video her regular motion and let's see if anything looks different or off.
