Been working on front side resistance with dd. When she focuses on it and does her pitching motion without a ball. She does good but when goes to full motion goes back to having a bend at release. Are there any specific drills we can do at home to help with this. When she has good posture, she has a nice increase in her speed. It’s just trying to break that bad muscle memory. This seems to be the hardest thing for her at her lessons.

Where exactly is the pool noodle held? I️’m just a mom trying to help her, I️ told her that I’m. Going to start pulling her ponytail to keep her shoulders back. She doesn’t think I’m serious but I️ just may end up doing it.

That works too.

If you do not think she is tall enough put it were you think her head should be or be behind. Maybe trick is not to hit it.

Very gental physical reminder for her.

You could share a video of both her with and without the ball, I'm sure you'd get some good feedback.

It’s definitely posture and I️ will try to post some pics. I️ don’t know how to post video or I️ would post some of her. I️ used to be able to post video straight from my phone but not anymore.

Looks like her brush is out of wack due to her upper arm being way out front. This will make slicing pitches almost impossible to achieve correct spin and axis.
Her posture appears to be in a "slamming closed" approach rather than a transfer of energy and kinetic approach.
I'd bet a former PC was all about getting open??? She needs to learn adduction of the arms and legs, as well as really stopping her body. Combo this with an adjustment of the arms (I call it skinny and deep elbows)

I'm with Coach James this is more about posture. You don't want a straight front leg there has to be some flex and while it seem maybe she has just a little too much it is not drastic but the bigger issue is posture which is hunched over slightly look at the pictures and draw a line from what would be the back of her spine where it meets her pants straight up to the back of her head that line should be straight up and down...also as Coach James points out the point at which she releases the ball is too far forward.
