I think you have to focus on the process not the outcome. Despite Waldrops accomplishments if you look closely her mechanics especially the lower body were not great. I have seen Waldrop and your DD throw and I know which one has better lower body mechanics.

Although nobody is going to dispute that Monica is amazing I think it's a bit risky to show her as a poster child of awesome mechanics and not note her step off the rubber that is legal if I understand correctly at the level she plays, but not at the youth levels and the prepitch squat and 90 degree bend are not something that I'd show to a young girl to emulate.

If I were looking at stills of Monica to show my dd, I wouldn't start until the lean. I think the squat and the bend are more of a style thing that I wouldn't consider mechanics. Had 2 more but that's all I could load up.
