I did exactly what 4 girls dad did above and it works great! I bought a pitching rubber off of Amazon and glued it down and used the thick white gorilla tape for a power line, which is obviously, optional. Unfortunately, it’s not really portable cause it’s heavy but it doesn’t slide at all and has proven to be very durable. I have this, a heavy tarp, and a zone in pitching target/net and it works great for the smaller tandem garage we have.

Head out to Tractor Supply, buy a section of what they call horse matting. Comes in different thicknesses, 4' wide by how ever long you want. Glue on a rubber, paint a power line and your ready to pitch. Somewhere in the $50 range.

I went there and the one here only has 4x6 mats, they didn't have any option to cut to a larger size. I looked at the turf at Home Depot and it's not cheap. I just got a gift card for Amazon so I'm just going to put that towards a pitching mat.

Sorry to hear that. They keep the rolls here. Pitching matts are probably more portable and definitely easier to put together.

This maybe the way to go. May make a couple of these to try out.

If you have any farm supply stores, call and ask if they have rolls of stall (shop) mat. Some good hardware stores carry it (not Lowe’s, Home Depot...)

One thing good about the pitching mats that you buy is that they usually have foam rubber as an under layer and they come in different thickness depending on the quality and price. I feel some forgiveness is needed when used over concrete floors to protect their joints especially on the repetitive landing of the stride foot. Adding additional carpet padding also helps.
