Dropball spin, thrown at an angle. Anyone have a gifs of pitches with movement, spin included?

I'm not sure what you are getting at.

This is an inside fastball. It has some top spin, but it is certainly not a drop ball.

I count 6 rotations of the ball from the time it left her hand to the plate. Assuming she is throwing around 60 MPH, the ball takes rough .5 seconds to go 40 feet. So, that makes it around 12RPS.

Good drop balls are 25 RPS and up.

Original link calls it a churve, what ever that is. Just though it was interesting this pitch was thrown with drop spin across plate, not curve spin. I like the numbers you posted, but im looking for gifs that represent those numbers, spin included. We hear of movement all the time, just like to have something clearly showing movement and why (spin )

So the intended pitch was an off speed curve, the resulting pitch was a poor change up thrown inside, spinning around 12rps with 12-6 spin. Then despite the characteristics of the the actual pitch, the talking heads came up with a catchy name for what they thought was thrown. Pitchers are far from perfect. They throw poor pitches. Some very few, others many more.

Now that I look carefully at the release, note the last fingers off the ball. Great example of how to use different fingers to affect the speed of a pitch.
