Nose in front of drive knee, knee in front drive toe... prior to ball passing side on backswing.
I think this is one aspect that many well meaning pitching instructors overlook....for some reason, these folks seem to think it causes the pitcher to get out front of the ball.

I actually see the body position you describes seems to correct many of the common flaws....just my observation. Probably would say this helps to maximize the best movement pattern for a pitcher... It seems more natural.

Have her watch her knee move into position (an effective way to get the nose in front of the knee)... while doing one of these:
1) Don't allow the hands to move at all until the knee is in front of the toe.
2) If the hands must move, move them in the opposite direction of the backswing (forward)... the moment her knee starts moving forward. The Pushback drill outdoor example shows this well.
3) Increase the distance the arms must move to "get into the backswing"... which, IMO, starts once the hand passes the side. So... a wind-up like Cat (overhead)... while maintaining an emphasis/priority to getting the knee into position (engaged).
4) If not using a backswing, take the hands from the belt, downward... or counter-clockwise around an imaginary barrel in front of her thighs. (loop: down, out, up, in, down) while getting the knee in the engaged position.

IMHO, the trick to the lean forward prior to the pitch is that #1. it's a lean, not a dip. Meaning the back leg has to stay straight to keep the pressure for push off on the front leg. Once the back leg bends, the weight will sink her butt down losing the explosion. #2. the lean forward is an ABSOLUTE in my book but the shoulders need to come back as the explosion forward happens. So she releases with her CHIN behind the BALL. So lean in forward for the push, then be tall when you release the ball!!!

"I feel like I'm falling down" - is that the 'right' feeling?

They should work on gradually increasing that feeling. Too much, too soon... and they will encounter a posture they cannot recover from.

One side note... the throwing side ankle should be very firm. I will keep their heel from touching (throwing side) if there is instability or slop at that joint.

Lastly... if they use a backswing... they should try and create a feeling that their body is passing their backswing arm... not the backswing arm simply passing the body.
