Somehow I landed on her site and was checking out the speed club.... https://softballpitchingtools.com/speed-club/

I have to say I am impressed by the numerous girls she has been able to get to throw in the 60's and close to 70. We all realize that speed isn't everything so no need to rehash that it is just amazing to me to see so many girls under one coach that throw that hard. I know she coached Waldrop and others but it looks as of late she has a huge client list of upcoming girls that are extremely fast.

It just makes me wonder what she is doing to get those kinds of speeds out of that many girls at such a young age.

2nd part to this post, does anyone know anything about the radar guns in the pictures that the girls are holding up as well as Jugs backyard bull pen. Just wondering how accurate they are or if they can be calibrated higher or lower manually.

I went through the list and recognized 8 pitchers that D has played against at one time or another. 2 of them doing quite well in college now. Most of these girls do start on their High School teams, except for the younger girls.I know this for a fact since D has played against them. Several of these girls DO go to other instructors that I do know teach I/R.
I also know for a fact that a few of these girls were pitching fast before going to Rita.

First time posting so here goes.

Took my DD to see Rita Lynn last April for a lesson. DD enjoyed the lesson and learned some good drills to promote speed and work on some mechanics.

At the end of the lesson she had DD throw 3 fastballs. Rita’s radar gun my pocket radar had the same number and the speed board was the same or off by 1 mph.

Dad picked up 3 mph from the beginning of the lesson to the end.

Haven’t made another trip as she is about 3 hours away but hope to get back down to see her this summer.

I'm new to all this and the forum here but I have heard that some girls go there just to get on the speed club board and use it to get seen. I have no idea if that is 100% fact and such. I know some girls that have been there just by looking at names. The person who started my daughter (HE) has a 13year old who hit 59 and 60 got clocked there. She just went there to get on the board. The more i've been researching here and reaching out to others in my local community the more i see some kids going there once a year or so and get instructions elsewhere locally.

Thanks NG for the post and good to know that her numbers/gun are in line. Impressive!

Thanks Crystal! Also good to know and thanks for sharing. It just amazes me to see that many girls under one instructor throwing at the high end of the spectrum. Sounds like they get instruction elsewhere as well and based on hooham's post below perhaps that is the thing to do once you throw fast. Get on the speed club board once a year or so for visibility.

Anyway, was just amazed as I never knew her for teaching solid mechanics that our taught here. I have never seen her in person and just watched some of her interesting videos over the years to make that conclusion so I don't want to take anything away from her at all. She has an impressive speed club of girls so I certainly can't cast stones.

Thanks all for the comments!

I've spoken with Lacey Waldrop a few times (she's on board to help at my next clinic by the way!) She told me that Rita was one of several instructors she'd had.
They (she and her dad) utilized drills and techniques obtained from many different PC's over the years.
