I have always called it a Princess Circle. The area in front of the rubber is the Diva Ditch.
Is that when they're just standing there with " The FACE," or just because that's where they end up at the end of the pitch?

Professionally speaking, I can definitively state that there is insufficient information provided to determine if the photo is of a glacial erratic or a bedrock outcrop. Argue on dudes
Pitchers think they are so special that they have a chalk "circle" drawn around them!
BTW, I call it the "kitchen" as in "Kitchens Open!" when my hitters hit middle. Pitchers and their little protective circle . . . HA!
