Pitching coach, Ken Krause, my first complaint!

Hi Forum, first post!

And my first complaint about my DD's pitching coach, Ken Krause. I know he posts here and I hope he sees this! It's because of Ken that my daughter (12U) hurls 10mph faster than 11 months ago when we started working with him. She's been pitching a total of almost two years and she's about to break 50mph.

It's because of him that she has a fantastic changeup, and he's guilty of currently teaching her this "dreaded" drop-ball!!! Yes, it is a work-in-progress, as evidenced in the below pic. Also, it's Ken's fault that I will spend money on shin guards :)

Thanks a bunch, Coach Ken Krause!

I guess Ken is "that guy." LOL Shooting Star, just wait until the dd throws one past your head and your ear feels real warm. Mine did that to me and I could not believe how badly I was bleeding from my ear and it didn't even hurt that much.

Ha ha, thanks Shooting Star. Sorry to make your life so miserable. ;)

His daughter is an amazingly hard worker, and quite mentally tough. She started out kind of slow (figuratively and literally) at the beginning of the season, but despite making incredible progress she didn't get much opportunity to pitch on her team. Which was their loss, by the way, because every time she did get in she nailed it. Oh, and she's only a first-year 12U.

SS, the one thing I can tell you is keep this in mind: every day, she is getting better and better. You are getting older and slower. I doubt that shin guards will be your final purchase. :D

Lol, Matt. Yes, you are feeling the pain

Ouch Cannonball! Took a shot to the shoulder recently also. Luckily it was a change-up

Coach Ken, thank you for the kind words! DD is working hard at her pitching game. I think she will grow into a fine pitcher. And, oh so true, older and slower thus the catcher's gear I now possess.

Thank you all for your replies.

P.S. The screen name was dd's idea.

Ken does a great job.

Dads who are too proud to wear protective gear are going to get hit. For heaven's sake, wear a mask and shin guards.

Trust me, I've learned my lesson now. I'm proud, not stupid :) I now have catching gear on my legs and will start to wear the mask.

In Spring, a fastball landed early and bounced over my lowered glove to strike me in the head. Lol. Wasn't funny at the time. I stood up and had a slight loss of balance. You think I would've learned then!

And yes, Ken does a fantastic job! I'm a paying customer, not a paid ad. Lol. We left an HE coach when I found Ken on this site! I'd recommend him to any mom/dad to have their daughter learn IR pitching. Ken is a patient man, unlike many parents and coaches. Certainly more than I am.

Thank you DFP forum!
