Emergency!

The situation.
I've just had two of my pitchers become unavailable when we host the Lower Mainland Cup next Weekend. We still have one good pitcher and my DD who was in development. Problem is DD picked up a bad habit of throwing screw balls every pitch and hits a lot of batters. I don't know where this came from as I have not been hands on with her pitching this year.

Question?
What can I do starting tomorrow to get her ready for Friday night? I was out working with her on Board Members plan today but I'm afraid it will take to long.

A video of her pitching would be helpful, how quickly you can make the adjustment depends on what is wrong.

I think DD hit the most batters in a single season, no one got hurt and we survived. 1 batter took an out rather then batting, she did not want to get hit again.

She has pitched a bunch this year, no hit batters.

Once it gets in thier head it is hard to stop.

Short term I like the throw outside then figure it out later.9

(I would ask DD but am worried she will start hitting batters again if I bring it up. You have not hit a batter this year, guarantee one of the first 2 batters will be hit)

So you think I should keep her throwing screw balls and fix it after?

Generally, fixing something in a week and expecting it to stick in a game situation is very unlikely. You could try having her adjust where she brushes on her forearm ( more inside), but that could risk messing up whatever control she has right now.

Looks like a tuff girl. What's she do if you change grips? Looks like she stays on her line.
Batters being a little scared never hurts.

What does it look like when she finishes her pitch? On all those she stopping her lower half too soon. Tell her she's not done until her right knee gets past her left knee.

One other idea for an emergency fix for the weekend, along the line of Ken's "hold the glove on the outside corner" would be maybe moving over to her left on the rubber if everything is running inside?? or at least whenever she is throwing the one that does . . .
