She just turned 11 and has been pitching a little over a year. After reading some of the posts it looks like she needs to get under the ball more and have more front side resistance. Would love input. Thanks.

Thanks Ken didn't realize the lean was so bad. Yes just starting to work on 2 step. She get push but has false load for sure which is also throwing off her timing as well.

Something that might be helpful is to have her get into the position I have freeze framed here. Just have her stride out and then pause just like the picture, leaned over and heel down.

Now from this position have her pick her heel up off the ground and just have her toe touching. She should actually feel her hip release and my guess is you will notice her shoulder move more level and actually stop leaning as bad. This should let her feel the difference. Again these are just cues, if she can just cue to straighten up or stand tall the foot might stop dragging as much but at least by doing the stop and lift heel she can feel the difference. Once she can feel what it is like to stand taller and have the heel up off the ground she can use whatever cue she wants to.

Another thing that will help is getting her on the power line. Have her try this stand like she is pitching back foot on the line and stride foot on the power line at her release point now have her move her foot back a few inches into an open stance, then have her keep moving her foot back until its almost off the mat you will see each time she opens more the more she leans over to compensate.

So three tips;
1. Heel up drag toe only
2. Step on the power line
3. Drive first with knee pics attach as well versus model pitcher leg should straighten out right before she begins to separate from the plate

Also did I mention she is doing a lot of things well and overall not bad ;)

Found another video. Just to get perspective on the first one, I was trying to get her to have more front side resistance. Yall are amazing. Thanks for all the advice. Keep it coming. I will try to find a few more videos.

Here is another video from earlier. If you notice in the other videos she has on a black sleeve. This is because she started banging her hip. It got so bad we started using the sleeve. Thinking this would have also caused more of a lean in order to avoid the hip.

In DJ's still, you can see her elbow is banging against the hip bone. That's gotta hurt! Try getting the posture corrected and encourage her to release even closer to the thigh. Allow the elbow to tuck behind the hip bone so the forearm can wrap/roll around the soft spot below the hip bone. Like this:
