Here is the controversial Illegal Pitch call against Kentucky's Meagan Prince.

I've watched the replay several times. If you notice, the IP call comes before she strides, so it wasn't called for a leap. I'm guessing the IP had to be something like her back foot lost contact with the pitcher's plate.

Unfortunately, the side camera angle doesn't have all of Prince in the frame.

Hard to believe an umpired called that while all the others continue to allow Kelly Barnhill to replant...

Looks like Coach White turns to the 3B umpire and "encourages him" to make the call of an illegal pitch.

In the video above, it'll be the slight lift & re-plant of the heel while on the rubber. Negligible to most, but what I can suggest is that Coach White already had it blackbooked, and in his back pocket. During the course of the game, brought it to the umpire's attention. When he needed it, he used it.

Shrewd, maybe. Brilliant, yes.

At 1:25 of the provided video, I don't see any lift.

Looks like the umpire already made the call by the 1:22 mark. DD and I were watching the game live. When it happened I did not personally notice anything. DD stated "I bet they called her for lifting..."

Just another umpire trying to make himself bigger than the game!! With all the pitchers out there who are illegal as all get out and you do this with bases loaded. You want to make a name for yourself why not call out the real leapers...not to mention how wide the strike zone seems to be getting in a couple of those series.
