High skips--no arms:

Use the progression to feel how you can power a jump or stride using the arms for extra oomph. Make sure the stride knee is adding too.
Hal Skinner called it a Glove Shove. Use the arms (along with the stride leg) to help power the stride--give them a purpose other than to balance out what the rest of the body is doing.
No comments about the socks... They were cheap and perfect for practice...
