Setup - DD2 is 2007 birth year. I have been her HC in LL up till this year (2 yrs coach pitch, 2 yrs 10u), she is playing 10u LL again (minors), I am AC now for her LL team. she also joined a new TB team this fall, I am just a parent there. None of the TB coaches are really pitching coaches, or give the girls much feedback. they have had a pitching coach come to a few practices and as a volunteer worked with all the girls (indoor workouts) after normal practice (only Ps and Cs stayed). LL HC does not really know a lot about pitching either.
DD is struggling in the circle, and it is effecting other parts of her game as well. and when I try and give her correction (LL only so far) during games, she is resentful. I am not yelling at her, I am trying to give her feedback so she can get back on track. basically, if she throws a few wild, she starts trying to guide ball into the zone instead of throwing, leans forward, releases in front of her, slows the ball down, etc.. I had tried to give her feedback such as:
stay tall (to avoid the leaning forward)
throw hard
don't aim, throw/pitch.
and variations of these three basic themes. I want her to trust her mechanics, not try and guide the ball.
I have been told by DD and DW to back off, she does not need instruction during games, it is distracting, etc.. did this last 4 innings of last game, she pitched looking for zone entire game, slowing ball down, leaning over, guiding it in. I could see it, but forbidden to say anything. and she also dislikes when I give her feedback when she throws to me at home, but is a little more accepting.
I was going to talk to DW about pitching lessons after LL and TB tournament season is over (she is just too overscheduled right now). fat chance of that if she id pitching like she did the other night.
How do I get her the feedback she needs when I am not allowed to give feedback. I am 99% certain she is not going to get it from either LL or TB coaches (former does not know pitching well enough, latter are always focused on strategy/tactics/baserunning at this point).
