My daughter has really stepped up this year pitching all of our first
4 games. We have won all 4 but last game was close. We have a weak
10u rec team with a good pitcher.
She's made almost all the outs with strike outs. She throws a lot of
Balls mixed with strikes that cause long innings and she's getting down
On herself thinking everyone is mad about her inconsistency.

I've told her we are winning with her pitching but she doesn't see it
and the longer the innings are the more she worries.
How can I help her? Pushing her at practice seems to make her think
She's not doing good.

Thanks

Try telling her this story. DD played in a 10u rec game when she was 8. We played 3 innings before time expired. We lost 21-0. The other team hit 2 balls. We made errors on both and didn't record a single out. The league had a 7 run rule limit which is why we only lost 21-0. What happened to the rest of the batters? They all walked or were hit by pitches. We didn't even get all the way through our batting order. I am sure we converted several girls on our team to soccer players that night. DD is now 15 and has played at least 300 games since then but this game is forever burned into my memory. I would have loved to have your DD that night (and many others).
I would suggest letting another girl pitch some. This will do a couple of things. It will help you develop another pitcher. It will also give her the chance to see the value of her pitching to the team if she is pitching better than your #2.

The best way for your DD to improve is weekly pitching lessons and bucket time 4-5 days/week, 10 months a year for the next 8 years...

I do not know how she is pitching in games but do not let her start trying to guide the ball for strikes, it is counter productive.

If was easy everyone would pitch.

10U we moved players all around, seemed like DD always had the worse defense we could field. The other pitchers needed more defensive help so it made sense to her and me.

10U is tough in rec league. It's almost worse with a good pitcher. My DD is in her second year of pitching in 10U. In 6 games the ball has been hit a total of 4 times, 2 of which were foul balls. It's super boring for the girls in the field and i try to tell her to throw meatballs for the other teams to hit but her coach doesn't like that approach.

End of the day it is just repetition. Never stress accuracy, just mechanics. Accuracy comes in time.

In my opinion, she'd be doing quite well if she got quality 2-3 days/week, 7-8 months a year for the next 8 years.
