My daughter pitches more consistent with a 4 seam. She started with the 2 seam last year. Trial and error I think. Not sure about late
Movement. Good luck !
Late break is the result of a high spin rate. This is a power pitch that is best at 65+ mph and 30+ rod. With finger pressure you can miniulate it to run left or right.
Late break is very real to every hitter who's faced good pitching. Speed, quality spin and initial trajectory all contribute to the perception of late break. Good pitches seem to jump at the last moment (not like Uncle Hal's miracle movement...)
This is the same thing I used to tell kids when I coached baseball the best way for a kid to figure out what pitch works for them after they have the basic mechanics down is finger pressure and spin and hour after hour practicing no two pitchers will do the exact same thing or if they are they won't describe it the same way each one has to find what works for them.
I mentioned it before...I don't think anyone naturally throws the ball straight there is always some kind of little tail to it one way or the other...my advice was always don't fight it work with it you don't want the ball to go straight anyway

Thank you for the picture of your DD's 2 seam grip. Could share how to apply pressure to get it to move left to right (from pitchers perspective) into a RH batter?
My DD has always thrown a 2 seam because it just feels better in her hand than a 4 seam but she holds her fingers further up to where the 2 seams come closer so the top of the seam is perpendicular to her fingertips. Does your variation this make a difference in the break? My DDs ball always moves away from a RH batter like a curve ball. Her fastball is always spinning a little towards the batter as shown in BoardMembers IR threads. She is only 10U but she gets a some break on about 50% of her fastballs.
