Confused. Does internal rotation always result in palm down? Video of Scarborough almost looks like she finishes palm in with a short follow through. Do we need the arm to be a longer lever and finish long. ie "the princess extending her hand to be kissed."

Very good question. I like a relaxed, unforced follow through. I think that hand facing the body or down is fine, but shouldn’t be a focus.

Dead stops can be a good tool to use with new kids learning whip. A dead stop occurs when the ball is pulled into release and the upper arm has transferred/exhausted all of its energy to the ball and stops at the side. The forearm and hand finish similarly to the position shown below. As a kid moves on, let them unlock the upper arm (and even the shoulder) in follow through.

Dead stops are a step you can add in between BoardMember's "Lock It In" and "Unlock It" found in the IR progression:

Easier on my neck:

Based on these stills, I'd spend time on loosening up the lower arm--think about the lower arm and the ball around the circle and into release. I'd also like to see her think about dragging her toenails into release. Posture looks pretty good and I like the glove action.

She looks pretty good. If you ever want don't be afraid to send video the critiques are always professional and constructive which is one thing I really like about these boards. To give you a visual of what KenB is talking about look at Amanda's lower arm (bend) vs your DD (straight locked out). As an aside you can see the drag toe versus foot as well. To your question though the palm will go down or in or over however you want to describe it and slightly different depending on person and pitch but NEVER palm up although you will see pitchers still follow through at the very end palm up but its a long time after release and just in their head from crazy HE training

Will try. As bad as I posted the stills I will have to research how. Do they have to be in slo mo?

Don't worry about slo mo just get good side angle preferably from practice so you can be close and not through a fence from the stands
