Wrist is a joint, not a muscle not sure how you work those.

Forearms and hands are important.

Quincy beat me to it... sort of. If you work on the elbow whip or snap, then by the way your body is designed, the wrist is going to whip or snap too. So, work the elbow. Aside from that, the one part of the body that gets no love is the fingers. Practice spinning balls with the fingers, build up callus' on them and work them hard. Do some practice with a LOW SEAM ball, this way when you get a regulation Fastpitch ball it will feel like your ball is simply dancing.

Funny you should mention that. Years ago the DD was at a national tournament. They were using Wilson balls with normal seams in the tournament. Overheard a girl from CA complaining to her mother the ball had small seams. Looked at what she had in her hand. The seams looked like sails on the ball.

Thinking about putting some work for them into our workout, would it be worth it? If so what improvements could we expect?

Exercises like pull-ups, lat pulls, bent-over rows, dead-lifts, and/or farmers-walk will work the forearms (increase grip strength) while working larger muscle groups.
