Here is a clip of a typical pitch from DD. I think she needs to work on Front side resistance but not sure how, maybe do it without a ball? She eliminated the toe hop that she used to do after planting and that's great but she looks to be too far forward. Looking for feedback, thanks.

You are correct that she needs more front side resistance to further transfer more energy from her drive and whip into the ball. The drive mechanics thread talks about this although I not sure what page, I know it's pretty far down. Also watch some of the model pitchers and see their resistance to get a better idea what it should look like, also have your DD watch it and compare it with her. One of the problems your going to have is that young pitchers are sometimes not developed enough to get a really good firm front side. Some things you can do to help it...Have focus on pushing the stride leg into the ground upon landing, and really firming up the core and doing it without the ball is fine it will let her concentrate more on those aspects. I have posted a sheet of stills of my DD to give a bit of an idea...she's not perfect but much better then last season. Also I will post a video in a bit. Hope this helps.//cloud.tapatalk.com/s/58ffa32fb36ab/collage-2017-04-14_10-08-14-416.jpg?

I know, we are working on it. It seems as if she loses whip as she gets to full speed pitches, warmups are more whippy. Work in progress there... She's in the 49-51mph range, we're in the middle of the season so trying to find ways to improve but not sure how to go about it. I know we can run drills between tournaments but don't want to go backwards right now. This is 12u A ball and those pgf teams have some good hitters. I know there is no easy fix and will take a lot of work. I thought she could gain a bit by working on front side resistance

jsoftballcoach agree with the others on the front side and definitely more whip. Working without the ball and then throwing into a tarp is always a good idea. Remember this is a marathon not a sprint so take it a day at at time. She has some good stuff going on. And take some time and buy that girl a sammich! Reminds me of Jake back in the day. :)

*update*

Somehow (I think) when she started throwing a curveball it forced her to have a much better front side, here are 3 consecutive pitches (drop, change, curve) from last weekend. Was hoping to get some feedback, thank you.

Something I discovered is putting a mud flap from a tractor trailer in front of the tarp, the kids like hearing the pop when the ball hits the mud flap and seems to encourage them to try and throw harder to hear it pop.

Back on the dirt...
She still looks a little soft on the front leg but mainly too much weight forward. Her release point is too far in front of her body. The front side is def better then previous so keep it up!

Here's my .02 FWIW.

At release I see the front side
pulling her upper arm/shoulder.
pulling her pivot drive leg.

I see Osorio's back side driving into her front side, not being pulled, if this makes any sense.

In addition, I agree with Ken. She hasn't figured out arm whip. She's trying to throw with her upper arm / shoulder versus her lower arm.

When her stride leg touches down, tell her to try and firm up her upper torso and head and drive her back side hard into the front. Think of an accordion, the back driving this way -----> <----- the front driving this way.
