Matty moss was called by 3b umpire for an IP.
Amanda and Adam tried to find what was illegal and thought that Matty's foot detached from the plate.

What's interesting was what followed. Amanda says that's easier to fix than a leap or replant.
Adam then followed "the leap is something that comes to mind for me. some get away with it, quite frankly".

huh? i guess they know?

I don't know that they do. They also made a comment how Barnhill was the best in the SEC and absolutely destroying it this season. Not sure those 2 go hand in hand but great post and I wish they would comment on illegal pitching more

Start of Auburn, Mizzo game pitching lane still intact, Auburn pitcher cleared the chalk several times and no call no mention. It was very clear from behind.

Moss places only the very front of her stride foot on the pitchers plate. It is common for her to lose contact and have her foot move an inch or so to the rear as she transfers her weight.

i absolutely like matty's pitching. as what strike3 said, i wished they had talked about leap IP more but i guess they could not directly mention any names.

Yeah Carlson was way outside the pitching lane all game long. The game had just started and I hear my 12 yo DD hollering from the other room "that's illegal" so I had to come see what she was talking about. Sure enough. Not the first time I have watched her pitch and do it this year. Strange a 12 yo can see it but NCAA umpires can't.

Of course they know.. why some people want the commentators to throw their jobs away bringing it up is beyond me. When the umps call it the commentators will comment on it. Seems like if folks want to get illegal pitches called they need to put the umps on social media blast not the commentators.

Does this give her a competitive advantage, or just against against the rules?

It really does not matter if it provides a competitive advantage or not. There is nothing in the rule book about intent, competitive advantage, if she has never been called for it before, or if mom, dad, and coach think it is a silly rule. It is illegal. Nothing more, nothing less. However, to your point I suspect it is more about sloppy mechanics than a flagrant disregard for the rules to gain an advantage.
