Ask the Coach why he/she was barking that out. What were they trying to correct and how would that solve it in their mind? That would tell you if you need to be listening to them or not.

She told me that it was bothering her, her coach trying to give her instruction while she was pitching. Especially since she was struggling finding the strike zone. She was trying to focus and he was distracting her. I think there is a time and a place for that kind of instruction.

I think this is common when the coach finds the pitchers mechanics as odd. Once the pitcher struggles they see it as a sort of a "This is proof her odd mechanics are wrong.
