Need some feedback to help my daughter. Hard time staying in the strike zone, I'm hoping her getting feedback from somewhere other than Dad will help. Of course I don't know what I am talking about... Sorry for the poor video quality.

First thing that jumped out is the leap. (Illegal pitch). Gotta keep that back toe down. Decent IR mechanics. Improve the leg drive which should help keep the toe down and the weight back which should help keep the ball down. Was she missing consistently in one direction?

She is a stepper with issues. Not really opening with an differential between the hips and shoulders, not really using the core. Takes a long stride with no leg drive, which creates an opening reaction that is "stretched" out as part of the stride.

Thanks for the input, keep it coming. Pretty much the same input we had when I posted a video over a year ago. At that time we finally made progress and really got her coming off the mound. IMO her arm has gotten too far ahead of her body again, she is dipping way low at the release point(ball is at her knee), has a weak front side, and is stopping her arm from finishing. She didn't touch a ball for about 10 months, tired of pitching, but has been forced into action because her team needs pitching. She still does not want to practice but gets so upset when she has no control. As far as location she is all over the place. Trying hard to be supportive but the lack of motivation is killing me, she could be a really good pitcher. Again, any words of wisdom not from Dad seem to be the way to go these days..

Tough spot for her to be in. If she doesn't want to pitch, she shouldn't be forced into it. Same situation with my oldest dd, she could have been a great pitcher, but it just wasn't her thing, wasn't comfortable out there. Would rather work on hitting. I refused to put her on the mound. After a few losses, the team picked up someone who wanted to pitch, problem solved.

IMHO the issue is she is completely open at 9 o'clock, she should had made the transition to her throwing angles by then and stabilized her hip to receive her arm onto her side for the whip at release. What are throwing angles? For me I have my student stand completely open and do arm circles. Her arm should naturally swing approximately at 45 or so degrees to the powerline. If she merely rotates her body towards the catcher at some point her arm circle will be parallel to the powerline in a direct line to the catcher. This is her shoulder and hip release angle, which is where her shoulder naturally works without forcing the arm circle into a path necessary to get the ball on target. Why isn't she getting to the throwing angles? Her drive foot is pointing towards second which means her drive leg is not getting under her. I'm sure when she throws overhand she drags her drive foot forward and turns her laces down and toward the target, underhand windmill leg action really not different. Play pitch and catch with her and have her alternate overhand and windmill and make the drive leg action the same. Hope that little drill helps..

Awesome, simple little drill to illustrate a mechanical flaw. Not frustrating her with a bunch of technical talk. Don't get me wrong, she enjoys pitching but doesn't like the work that is necessary to be successful. So she gets out there and struggles and feels like she lets her team down. This frustration makes her even less likely to want to practice... Just the way she's wired. I was always the exact opposite so it has been hard for me to accept her lack of desire to be the best.
