WarriorAngela started with a new pitching coach, but I just dont feel like shes getting better after about 7 lessons. We left her previous PC because the team had their own PC that they wanted her to use. So we went along with it. Now I'm just not convinced that the new coach is doing her justice. I hate having to fire people. Something I've never been really good at.

UGGGGH the softball pitching struggles..........

How do you people fire your PC?

DD has been to a few, DD and me thank them and move on.

No reason to make it complicated.

Not big on not showing up anymore, there was a reason we went to them and they deserve more respect iMO.

Some instructor's take it personally, and they should not. When you switch instructors, the response should be "It's been a pleasure working with you and I wish you continued success" or something like that. I hate it when pitching instructors comment negatively on former students or students comment negatively about former instructors.

I might have to make a switch myself soon. Not sure how I am going to handle it. The problem is that my DD just needs a change of pace.

It's not personal, yes we get close to the athletes and their families but at the end of the day, it's what's best for your daughter that matters. As a coach, hopefully we all get that. The very 1st parent to fire me when I was starting out giving lesson when her daughter was 8yrs old ended up being my varsity pitcher when I took the high school position at her school. Over the years, I've had them leave and come back , the record is 3 times a family left and came back. The daughter never wanted to leave it was the parents, I ended up helping (little help) her get in to the college of her choice because another pitcher of mine was attending that college. Just last month, I told a parent it's not working out and suggested another coach. Her daughter was more interested in teaching me how to pitch and when I warned her and spoke to mom that her attitude and effort needed to change, it didn't so we parted ways. I always did appreciate the ones that let me know they were leaving over the ones that don't say anything. Good luck
