Not to mention the many women that can't chew food because the did not wear a facemask in their youth. Oh the humanity!!!

Kindly ironic that one member in conversation at the event advocating "natural motion" was a pitcher. About 6 months ago was having shoulder pain/problems. Related to pitching who knows.

While underhand throwing may be a natural motion, I would say that windmill pitching is less natural than overhand throwing.

Although it may or may not be more natural than overhand, the bottom line is that a natural motion will not compensate for bad mechanics. When I look at the mechanics in a typical tournament, many kids should not be allowed in the circle for a single pitch, much less 100.

Watching any slo mo/hi frame rate video of full effort throwing or pitching (FP or BB, doesn't matter) will provide insight into the force involved and the stress on the elbow, arm, shoulder etc. Natural motion? I don't think so!

IMO, the acceleration part is easy, its the sudden deceleration that's problematic, just like a car.

Well a little more discussion at lunch. On the single stride over vs underhand we decided same amount of practice with both methods would yield higher velocity and distance with overhand due to abs and core. Accuracy could go either way depending on distance and that paticular person. So hitting the gazelle in the head with the rock at distance would be overhand and if close enough might go either way depending on the person.
SeconD we couldn't come up with any natural movement or act that in excess wouldn't cause some form of discomfort. Butt or nose scratching = irratation of some kind. Walking, jumping, running etc beyond normal = soreness lower body. Bending, throwing, lifting = middle/upper body pain.
As far as monkey poop.throwing we decided we just don't want to see.

All I know is that after throwing front toss for 14 girls at batting practice with about 35 pitches to each girl, 490 pitches in 1 hour, I could almost raise my arm high enough to brush my teeth the next morning. Therefore I concur, overuse of even a natural movement will cause discomfort and injury.

I think you missed riseball's deeper philosophical meaning in which "monkey cage at the zoo" is a metaphor for the DFP technical hitting forum.
