How about inertia forces the adduction of the rear leg, she just needs to control (resist) the amount of forward movement.

I edited my last response after watching the video. Have a look.

Thank you for checking out the video. She is timid when it comes to sports, always had to play with the older group, practice more than play. So it is a bit new to her. Especially being on the mound come game time. So more drive? We can work on that.

Game time is about performance. Start thinking about what you can do in practice to increase her performanceson on the mound.

It's not just increase drive/stride.

Elite athletes PERFORM with the appearance of relative ease... but with undeniable power/efficiency. Chloe is efficient in her motion, it's really quite impressive. But she does not appear powerful... or as much as she could.

How old is she? With her ability, the only ceiling she will hit is one you or someone else builds (including her).

I'd really recommend you start looking into performance building. This sport is about explosive ability... a 1-2 second burst of energy. She looks more built for endurance... and as such, would immediately benefit from performance type training. Not just working out... but learning about enhancing output... while decreasing time/impulse... like building on overlapping movements, the stretch shortening cycle, 1 RM... for example.

Where are you guys?

If she's the 14u player she appears to be (age)... you guys have a very bright future ahead. Not to say she's a natural... as I don't know her story... but I'm overly impressed by that video. Have to be careful with kids like this... don't want to coach the athlete out of them. If you are anywhere nearby... I'd really like to help.

She looks very good and really nice whip! I think Java has nailed the finer points so nothing to add except that I wouldn't try to change to many things except provide some more urgency in her pitch. Go hard. Again, Java has this covered already so defer to him on this and keep up the great work she is already showing. Looks really really good!

I'm glad Java responded. I tend to cringe whenever the term "hip-snap" is used.

Java's initial post in this thread ranks right up there with the best he's posted, and there are MANY! Right?
