I think Justin hit the nail on the head.... not enough resistance. I'd also like for her to stop spinning her torso into a closed off position during release. She must STOP all movement in the body at an approximate 45 degree angle from 9:00 into release!!! (except for her two arms pulling inward, of course) This will speed her up and will encourage a more correct spin axis

Agree with JAD that her arm is locked out and she has little to no whip. She is blowing through mid-line and shoving the ball. Until she develops proper throwing mechanics, everything else with respect to pitching is moot. On the upside once she does learn to throw properly, she has a bright future as a pitcher.

This may help:

Man10; take the advice from Rich Balswick in the link provided by RB as that's exactly the first thing that should be the focus. Critically urgent as Rich says. It's tough to break old habits but stick with it and have her learn how to whip the ball.

We have been working on front side resistance with the correct angle of 45 degrees this week and she's getting closer but the whip is eluding us. We have watched the Balswick video several times and will do so again. Is there anything, a cue, a feel, anything that we can work on that will help?

Loose as a goose and full of juice!

She's old enough to internalize it so have her watch the videos in the IR thread (lock it in, 9 o'clock etc.) and then have her explain to you what she is trying to learn.

Set her out on her own with a bunch of softballs and have her practice into a net so she can relax and learn how to get the feeling of just relaxing and letting the ball shoot out of her hand. Stay close to the next with no target, don't guide it, just let it happen.

When she gets a feel for that have her play underhand catch with you. Hold off on all the other stuff.

Boardmember and riseball (thanks again guys!) both advocate calibrating posture and whip/ir by throwing the ball into your glove. Your dd can and should do it between pitches. It has done wonders for my practice-averse dd. She can't carry her nearly-perfect posture/whip from a glove throw to a full pitch, but getting the feel of her posture/whip/ir right between pitches helps both her speed and accuracy.

It's easy to learn throw the ball into your own glove with good posture and whip. The first Balswick video and two companion videos (one Balswick, one javasource) show you in detail EXACTLY how to achieve this. Any pitcher (and any non-pitching dad) can stand by these computer and do these drills, then do it in front of a mirror and note differences between their own postures and Balswick/javasource.

As Balswick notes in video riseball linked, this is URGENT. But the improvement in my experience (with an admittedly small sample size) is immediate.

First off she's lookin great!

I think somebody mentioned the whip, looks like her arm is locking out on the bottom of the circle. Have her work in front of the mirror so she can see and feel the difference to get more whippy.
