I have been studying up on the I/R stuff, and I wish I would have come across this earlier! My 10yo daughter started pitching about 1 year ago, and was doing VERY well. Her first pitching coach taught HE and no wrist flip. We recently moved, and the original pitching coach was too far of a drive for weekly lessons, so we switched. This coach does HE and wrist flip. It's been a bit of a disaster. She went from throwing a very high percentage of strikes with decent speed to horribly wild with less speed. We decided last week to try another coach (this is prior to learning about I/R).

So I have reached out to Bill Hillhouse to see if he still comes to Texas, but have not heard back. Does anyone know of any instructors in the Dallas Fort Worth area that will teach I/R? I live on the north side of Fort Worth to narrow things down a bit more. Thanks!

Bill does come to Texas once a month. Just send him an email and he will reply. We have not found any instructors here in Central Texas, but it is worth the 3 hour drive to see Bill.

You might want to give Sherry Werner a try.

No you do not want to go to her. She teaches the same as Doug Finch. It's a shame that someone who is a doctor talked about how contacting the thigh with the humerus at release will reduce injury to the rotator cuff. This came from an article in the American Journal of Sports Medicine back in 2005. Yet she does not teach that. Makes you wonder. Check out her videos at her website to see what she teaches.

I am not a pitching coach nor do I have a daughter who pitches but my daughter does catch for several girls who go to Sherry. In all my time there I have never heard her mention "Hello Elbow" or witness her teach that. I do know that she is in very high demand and travels all over the place to give lessons. She also has several girls who pitch at a high level and come to her quite often. One of the biggest complaints I hear from parents who use her as their daughters pitching coach is that she can be hard to schedule time with. If Hillhouse comes to Texas once a month and you are OK with 1 lesson a month I would say go for it.
