This may seem like a silly question but I've seen using a tarp to pitch into mentioned a few times. I'm curious what type of tarp? and I would love to see examples of how you manage to hang the tarp?

I apologize in advance if this has been posted before but I searched and couldn't find anything.
thanks in advance!

DD only uses trap at house, both basement and garage it is easy to find a place to tie it off. Does't need to be flush with cellimg. Cheap tarp by the way.

At the field she throws into the fence or a bow net.

You can buy tarps at Home Depot or Lowes along with bungee cords or nylon rope. Different mounting locations will have different requirements. Some eye bolts may come in handy if you have some wood framing you can mount to.

Back on the dirt...
I don't have a pic handy but I used a small rope across the garage door tracks and folded a very large tarp over a couple times like a sheet and she uses that. Almost an automatic ball return too. I wanted the tarp so large she didn't have to focus on hitting it. Just throw hard, with proper mechanics.

Harbor freight has some good cheap tarps as well. TSC Lowes Home Depot etc.

I nailed a moving blanket to the rafters in the garage and use it for hitting and pitching. Great for the winter months in the NE.

Thanks! I didn't realize everyone just used the tarps indoors. I was trying to figure out how to hang one outside for her. LOL!
Outdoors everyone uses just a bownet??

A tarp will work outdoors, too.

I went a little overboard. I built a 10' x 30' cage behind my garage. In hindsight, I should have gone bigger.

We use a tarp outside in the carport. we live in Florida, nice weather, as long as we have a cover for the rain we are good!

Ive thought about hanging one inside also but never did it.

I built a cheap PVC frame and used the tarp bungee cords with the plastic balls on them.

At first I used zip ties but they didn't give enough and it ripped the tarps quickly. Since using the bungees the cheap harbor freight tarp has held up.

I converted our old trampoline into a hitting and pitching net. Took off a third of the frame stood it up. It almost anchored itself and is stable.
